8. Pumpkin/Jack O Lantern – The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Not only does The Nightmare Before Christmas feature a pumpkin, it features Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King (Danny Elfman/Chris Sarandon)! While it may be considered a kid’s movie with Halloween and horror elements, those elements are strong, and the movie is definitely among the edgiest of non-R rated fare. It is heartfelt, humorous and original. I think most people can relate to Skellington. In fact, I don’t want to associate with anyone who can’t.
