2. The Shining (1980)
Although not technically twins – at least not in Stephen King’s original novel – the Grady girls from Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining have become iconic in the world of horror. When they appear in the hallways in front of five-year-old Danny and his trike, one smiling and one serious, their hands clasped and their eyes hollow, you can’t help but jump, no matter how many times you’ve seen the movie. As their voices echo into Danny’s head and the scene flashes between them alive and happy and then dismembered in front of blood splattered walls, you can’t help but feel the terror that must have been crashing through the poor kid. When someone mentions creepy twins, these are the first ones that come to mind every single time.
