Why Tim Burton Needs to Direct an ‘EVIL DEAD’ Movie

I have been a huge fan of Tim Burton for many years. His movies Sweeney Todd, Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice have captured my heart and soul after watching it. They are a delicate balancing act of darkness and light, horror and family, macabre and comedy.

That is exactly what a new Evil Dead movie needs from its director. When fans were first greeted with Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead movie, it had a mixture of comedic elements and practical horror.

Director Tim Burton seems perfectly equipped to handle such horror elements as he has already proved to be very adept with the Beetlejuice duology and even 1999’s Sleepy Hollow.

Burton has a serious interest and passion for the horror genre when working in the film industry and Evil Dead seems like the perfect vehicle for him. I can foresee Burton racing his camera through a forest to get the POV shot of the evil demon stalking a group of friends similar to that of the opening sequence in his 2007 film Sweeney Todd, after Todd lands in London and attempts to go back to his old parlor.

The director could easily utilize his dark elements that he has accumulated over the years to make something différent rather than just having a group of friends find a book or object in a remote location and battling demons for the remainder of the runtime.

What do Burton fans think? Would you want to see the director saddle up for an Evil Dead movie?
