Its Just A Movie! 10 Movie Moments That Still Have Me Scared

I am not really easy to scare because I have kind of seen it all. However, there are some moments that scared me and got into my head, and I have definitely slept with the lights on still to this day when I see those random scenes forever trapped in your mind, feeding on the fear.

Let’s get started.

Paramoral Activity: Invisible ending

I will admit here and now that this scene scared the hell out of me and permanently became locked inside my head. Growing up, my mom always talked about ghosts. She would make us wake up in the middle of the night to get out of the house. Some may see this as a mental illness, because it is, it’s just diagnosed. This scene made all those moments come back.

Dracula (1931): Renfield’s Laugh From Hell

This was the time Bela Lugosi fit the role perfectly. We also have to look at Renfield’s laugh

Zeke The Plumber:

I think everyone in my generation still remembers the total fear of this man in your night, but scarier than Freddy Krueger.

Margaret Hamilton and Mr. Rogers:

As a kid, this was eye-opening. I was like a five-year-old terrified by her looks. In the episode, she assures children that being afraid is ok. This was after a small riot occurred when the wicked witch showed up in costume. The episode was taken out and lost forever, until the internet came along.

Zelda From Pet Sematary

I know this is a bit of a common one, but that only means I wasn’t the only one she scarred us all. I honestly stopped watching the movie except for segments or background noise while I get my work done.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre: Introduction to Leatherface:

I watched this movie too many times, and every time you hear that door open without trying to look by it only makes it worse when you can’t help but watch.

Pazuzu:

Listen, all those little flashes with those facial features still terrify me to this day. I don’t watch The Exorcist muto this day. I never expected it now, how many times I have watched it still takes me by surprise and haunts me in my sleep.

The Nosferatu Shadow:

Although I consider it one of the iconic moments in horror history, it still scares me. I am constantly looking at shadows, waiting for Count Orlock’s skinny shadow to come for me after all these years. This is the character I always see out of the corner of my eye.

Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things: Zombies

I say this is definitely in my regular rotation. The zombie scene gets me because there are so many creepy aspects that make you feel creeped out. Mainly, the musical noise increases your fear.

Zoobilee Zoo:

I know this is totally out of left field, and I guess you could say it’s in a horror spot for me because I was absolutely scared of all the characters. I still think it is extremely creepy, and I avoid it at all costs. It was hard even writing this article. Screw this show.

Running Scared

Thats it, that’s what terrifies me to this very day. Let’s see your moments in the comments!

About Craig Lucas

I hail from rural PA where there isn't much to do except fixate on something. Horror was, and still is my fixation. I have 35 years of horror experience under my belt, I love the horror community and it loves me.
