Let’s Eat!

This is a hilarious, knives-out, balls-to-the-wall blood fest from beginning to end. It’s Mean Girls meets Ravenous in this hip, edgy thriller that proves high school up can be killer. The characters are likable (or unlikable if you prefer), well-written, and brilliantly crafted.

The acting in this is absolutely fantastic. Lyndsey Craine is captivating, malicious, and ruthlessly vengeful in the lead role. She does a masterful job carrying the film. Lala Barlow is cold, callous, and endearing as Miss Campbell, the harsh, heartless English teacher. And, Laurence Harvey is beyond creepy in his supporting role as the repugnant, perverted assistant.

Also, the cinematography is unbelievable. The costumes are pertinent and fitting, and the gore is phenomenal. The music is perfect, adding to the chaos of it all, and the pacing is spot-on.

What really stood out though, were the sets and set dressing. They really tied everything together beautifully. They were fun, inviting, and engaging, giving viewers a little something extra to draw their eyes to.

Final Thoughts

In the end, Eating Miss Campbell is cruel, current, and unrelenting. It’s garish, offensive, and outrageously funny. It makes Teaching Mrs. Tingle (1999) look like a kindergarten class. If you like insane, avant-garde horror comedies with a penchant for death, do yourself a favor and check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.
