Prolific film distributor Indie Rights has picked up all rights for Andrew de Burgh’s upcoming romantic drama film The Jazz Club. The 92 minute movie tells the story of Jimmy, a jazz club owner, and Sarah, an advertising executive, who meet on the eve of their one year anniversary with opposite intentions.
Cayman Cardiff (“National Lampoon’s Alpha Academy“) stars as Jimmy and Marie Elizabeth DeWitt (“The Dreamer Cinderella“) stars as Sarah. The film was edited by James A. Lieske (The CW’s “All American“). It also features sound design by Steve Campagna (“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker“) and makeup design by Brittany Jamison-Lackey (“Bridgerton“).

In a deal that covers TVOD, SVOD, AVOD and home entertainment rights, de Burgh said he’s “grateful” to collaborate with Indie Rights for the third time after successful collaborations on the sci-fi drama “The Bestowal” (2019) and the horror comedy “The Demoness” (2026):
“Working with Indie Rights on two previous feature films has been one of my career highlights and I’m excited to be working with them for the third time. “The Jazz Club” is a tribute to some of my favorite movies with influences for it including “Heat” (1995), “La La Land” (2016), “Goodfellas” (1990), “Casablanca” (1942), “Notting Hill” (1999), “The Batman” (2022) and “Love Actually” (2003).
The film has already been receiving positive reviews from film critics, with Lúcio Reis Filho of Film Obsessive stating that it “offers a contemplative look at modern relationship dynamics, standing out as a singular entry in the contemporary romantic drama genre” and Film Threat critic Mikkel Frederiksen writing “date night becomes fight night”. OneFilmFan critic Kirk Fernwood gave it 4.5 stars out of 5, calling it “another definitive winner for de Burgh”.
