Ten Fun Facts & Goofs
1) George Clooney’s movie debut.
2) This movie is unrelated to 1973’s Horror High.
3) Philip McKeon’s movie debut.
4) George Clooney and Alex Rocco both had recurring roles on The Facts of Life (1979), which starred Philip McKeon’s sister, Nancy McKeon.
5) Lori Lethin said she had a great time making the movie and really enjoyed playing three different characters. She said:
“They just slapped different wigs on me, and I got to play all the different characters. It was really fun, and that was probably one of the best times I had working on a movie because it was lighthearted. Alex Rocco was beyond hysterical. I loved working with him. On that movie, literally, we laughed all day long, and I thought everybody did such a great job. It was so much fun to work on.”
6) In Callie’s nightmare, she jumps into a Ford Fairmont to escape the killer. However, when she tries to start the car, the steering wheel clearly has a Pontiac emblem.
7) Alex Rocco, Scott Jacoby, and George Clooney have all appeared separately on episodes of The Golden Girls.
Goofs
1) The flag in the biology classroom disappears and reappears several times.
2) A trapdoor in the bottom of the sandbox large enough for a man to go through would quickly allow most of the sand to spill out, yet the sandbox remains full.
3) Early on, we meet Oliver, an actor playing Steve the policeman, who investigated the 1982 murders when they happened. Later, though, it is revealed that Steve and Cathy were high school sweethearts at the time of the murders. If Steve was still a high school student, he would not have been a policeman yet, and could not have investigated the murders.
