First, I love movies depicting the world ending. It seems so real, with the state of today’s world, Nuked just fits every mold of the modern world. The story, although a disaster film, was a real-time modern threat. What do we do if the bomb drops? Are we going to reflect on life for those few minutes before the missiles touch your country? This is very real for some countries, making me think more. However, Nuked gave me a whole new outlook on the state of the world.
Let’s dive in!

Synopsis
A group of friends gets together for a cannabis-infused, technology free, dinner party only to learn a bomb is headed right for them. Each friend is taken to lose their mind after releasing all those moments that brought guilt to the inner circle. Aside from the bomb, will they lose it on each other first?
The film stars Justin Bartha (National Treasure), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), and Lucy Punch (Into the Woods).
The Rundown
Nuked is everything I wanted in a comedy horror, if you call it that, either way, I cannot express enough love. Every actor and actress came hard, showing the mission. It is also the fact that if and when that bomb drops, how would you spend your last moments? Maybe we would open up everything we held inside all our lives? Would you be scared? Maybe run to a basement? We don’t know what could save us from an atrocious act. No one really knows what they would do in those minutes. We have all seen the show of people along a wall when the United States dropped its own two bombs.

What I do love about this movie is that although it’s a good horror comedy, it also gets very serious. The fear hit everyone at once. Secrets are revealed, and some of them hurt. I didn’t like that fact at all. I was in it for a laugh within the first two minutes. I can’t say this film let me down, it just pushed some buttons in my mind. It got deep into my psyche with the question being “What if this really happens?” It’s a very serious question. How long do we really have before our nations and countries shoot rockets at each other? These are the kind of questions Nuked brought to my attention. Although this is a comedy, it’s extremely possible that this could happen.
Take Nuked as a warning sign, do whatever you have always wanted to do in such a short time.
In The End
In the end, I absolutely loved this film. It’s the kind of film that speaks to me because I love horror comedies. Nuked lived up to my strict standards. I am very picky when it comes to some films. I wasn’t sure what I was walking into here, but I’m glad I stopped to see the sights. Nuked is like “The Day After” of modern times. Would we laugh it off? I’m pretty sure I would at least try to make one more joke before I disappeared forever. If the missile doesn’t kill us, there will only be more chances.
Stay safe out there and remember to laugh, just because it gives you more of a shine when you’re happy.
