Sadie: A Shocking New Short by Myles Erfurth – Movie Review

What happens when we die? What’s waiting for us on the other side? The new short film, Sadie, seeks to answer that. Written and directed by Myles Erfurth (Crocodylus 2017) and produced by newcomer Jamie “T” Trisheim, the film is about a woman named Sadie (Constance Payne: Crocodylus 2017) who chooses to end her life after suffering severe mental instability. Waking up in a bathtub full of blood, she finds herself on a strange street bathed in a red light where she relives every traumatic event in her life… while being followed by several entities.

Biagio Musacchia as the Demon Priest

Myles Erfurth holds little back in this latest, shocking effort. Everything in this film is meant to cause you unease as you follow Sadie on this journey. Every traumatic event you witness leaves a sense of unease. Throughout the film, tensions rise, and the soundtrack leaves you feeling vulnerable.

Emily Harris as Young Sadie

Payne’s journey as Sadie is a truly terrifying experience. Her trauma becomes your trauma. Watching her relive her past is quite horrifying. This is one I wouldn’t recommend to just anybody. You have to have a strong stomach to sit through this. At the same time, I look forward to seeing more from Myles Erfurth and Constance Payne. They make a really good team. While the movie may be quite a downer, all of the proceeds go to Mental Illness Research, which is a good reason to pay to see it.
