Described as the world’s first side-scrolling film, The Waves of Madness is the latest film from writer/director Jason Trost (The FP series, All Superheroes Must Die). The film is said to be a blend of classic horror influences and retro gaming aesthetics. The film was shot for $20,000 in a studio apartment with a crew of just 3 people. In addition to writing and directing the film, Trost also stars alongside Ryan Gibson and Tallay Wickham. Trost handled post production in Final Cut Pro and used practical effects, in camera tricks and hand built digital matte backgrounds for the films effects to build it’s unique world.

Trost had this to say about the project.

I wanted to make something that felt like it crawled out of another dimension, This film is for anyone who’s ever dreamed about making a movie with nothing but a crazy idea, a few good friends, and the will to see it through. The Waves of Madness is proof that you don’t need a big
budget to make something unforgettable-you just need vision.

This groundbreaking horror epic hits Blu-Ray June 4th from Umbrella Entertainment and is now streaming on demand.

The Waves of Madness definitely sounds like an interesting film that’s well worth checking out. Stay tuned as I will have a review for the film coming soon.
