Ding-Dong

Fantastic Fest 2019 Short Review: ‘Ding-Dong’ is Dark and Entertaining

Ding-Dong premiered at the 2019 Fantastic Fest under the paired-shorts category. It was super fun and surprising. I was happy to see it was different from any other short I’ve seen recently.

Fantastic Fest - Ding-Dong

Synopsis for Ding-Dong

An inane chat is interrupted with a sudden outburst of violence, followed by an insistent invitation for a reprisal in this uncanny mobius short.

Ding-Dong

This quirky short was directed by SUKI-ROSE and I love her style. I feel like this short could be interpreted in many ways. For me, I saw it as two friends who have really nothing in common, but they somehow have an unlikely and awkward friendship. Ever been hanging out with someone who won’t stop talking and you just want to shake them to shut up? Yeah, that’s kind of how this felt but with no escape.

I’d be interested in getting SUKI-ROSE’S perspective on this and where this story idea came from, so hopefully, I can interview her in the future. If you saw Ding-Dong as well, leave a comment and let me know what you thought!

About Tori Danielle

Tori has had a passion for Horror and music ever since she was a little girl. She got bit by the writing bug in high school where she was involved in both the school newspaper and the yearbook. While getting her Bachelors degree, she took Journalism and Creative Writing classes where her passion grew even stronger. Now, in between work and family, she spends all of her spare time indulging in music, Horror movies, and nerdy fandoms, all while running/assisting one of the biggest Horror groups on Facebook and writing for various websites.
