PopHorror Let's Get Scared

Synopsis
A bouncer at an upscale nightclub and a woman he saves from being abused go on the run as a vengeful mob boss pursues them. With nobody to trust and merciless killers closing in, they use their fists, guns, and wits to survive.
The Bouncer was directed by Massimiliano Cerchi and written by Adrian Milnes from a story by Cerchi. The film stars John Ozuna (Death Bitch), Costas Mandylor (Saw Franchise) , Rosmary Yaneva (Subservience), Vincent Rivera (Lockdown) and Simon Phillips (Silent Bite)
The Bouncer reminded me of an indie take on The Equalizer, in that it dealt with a man rescuing a woman from human trafficking. While The Bouncer may not have the budget of that film, it does have heart. The film features solid performances. Costas Mandylor has proved in the past he’s more than capable of playing a villain you love to hate and that’s no different here. His character Kane is a human trafficking, woman abusing bastard and Mandylor plays him well. John Ozuna, who I first saw in Death Bitch, is excellent here, providing the bulk of the film’s action and also providing the choreography.
The action is well executed and entertaining. I really enjoyed the relationship between Frank Sharp and Sylvia, the woman he saves, played by Rosmary Yaneva. Yaneva provides a wonderful performance here and her and Ozuna have solid chemistry. I really liked the story here and how Frank and Sylvia have to rely on each other because they have no one else to trust, as there is a substantial bounty on their heads. It definitely helped up the stakes as their lives were literally on the line and all they had was each other.
The film is paced fairly well and keep a things moving at a consistent clip. We do get some softer moments where Sylvia and Frank get to know each other, bond and learn to trust each other. Those moments add a lot to the finale of the film.
Final Thoughts
The Bouncer is an entertaining and engrossing indie action thriller with a great cast, a solid story, some well executed action and a lot of heart. Highly recommended.
