Bela Lugosi. I am sure that you’ve heard of him. He was a renowned Hungarian stage actor that emigrated to the United States and went on to become one of the most classic horror film icons, most notably known for playing Dracula in 1931’s Dracula. Fun fact: when Lugosi died in 1956, he was buried in his full Dracula costume, including his cape.
Bela Lugosi was in several popular films throughout the 1940s. One of his more popular films after Dracula was a film called The Devil Bat (1940), which is about a mad scientist who develops an aftershave lotion that causes his gigantic bats to kill anyone who wears it. A sequel to the film is currently in production called Revenge of the Devil Bat. Not much is known of the plot as of yet, but it is advertised as a modern day sequel to the popular 1940s Bela Lugosi movie. So, let’s take a look at the trailer and film poster!
The film is directed and written by Tod Moehring (Invasion of the Reptoids 2011). The film stars Rochelle Davis (Sarah from The Crow 1994), Ruby Larocca (The Taxidermist 2018), John Link (Invasion of the Reptoids 2011) and the late cult film favorite, Conrad Brooks (Plan 9 from Outer Space 1959).
