Into The Woods: The Best Horror Films To Watch Before You Go Camping

Sleepaway Camp (1983)/ The Burning (1981) – Double Feature

These two films are summer camp staples. Summer camp is supposed to be a relaxing place for kids to do some fun activities and make new friends. But, of course, not even summer camps are safe from getting the horror treatment.

Sleepaway Camp is most known for that particularly twisted ending. I’m pretty sure all of you horror fans know what scene I’m talking about, but I won’t spoil anything. Other than that, Sleepaway Camp brings awesome kill scenes and it’s a great choice when you want to watch a bunch of jackasses get their just desserts.

Now, The Burning isn’t a personal favorite of mine, but it’s still considered a cult classic among horror fans. With its very memorable massacre scene, terrifying antagonist, and special effects courtesy of the horror legend Tom Savini, you definitely can’t go wrong with this one!

About Karli Lawson

I basically grew up watching horror films and spooky things. I watched my first horror film when I was 4 years old. I've wanted to be a writer ever since I've read Stephen King books in middle school. I love writing and talking about my favorite genre. I hope to one day be successful in screenwriting and filmmaking. Everything horror, of course!
