House of Whores (2015) Movie Review

A couple years ago, I found out a friend of mine starred in an indie horror film called House of Whores, which I promptly purchased. I’ve started the film several times but never managed to finish it. I figured since I will be reviewing the latest sequel of the film soon, I should probably watch and review the first two as well, so I finally forced myself to finish House of Whores. Read on for my thoughts.

House of Whores was directed by Daniel Murphy (Blood Moon River 2017), Tom Komisar, Paul Arnone, and RJ Cecott from a script written by Tom Komisar (Nightblade 2016). Komisar stars in the film, along with his Night of the Dolls‘ (2014) costars Daniel Murphy, Paul Arnone, Lindsey McIntire, RJ Cecott, and Linda Schrader, as well as Maella Cai Vane (Time to Kill 2014) and Nurse Hatchet as herself.

Synopsis:

Three beauties who would do anything for stardom. Three masked maniacs hellbent for kicks and an insatiable lust for young flesh.

House of Whores is a pretty fucked up movie. The film follows three women, Ashley, Kayla and Rachel, who answer an ad to shoot a porn movie. While being interviewed by the director (Cecott), there’s a knock at the door and the director is assaulted by three clown-masked intruders: Smasho (Arnone), Shago (Murphy) and Slasho (Komisar). What follows is an hour of pure degradation and they might not make it out alive. Trust me when I say that this film is fucking nasty. Just some of what you will see are several rapes, cheese-grated dicks, women assaulted with drills, saws to the vagina, forced red wings, various bodily fluids getting smeared all over everyone and a scene with a toilet brush you couldn’t possibly forget.

The characters are, for the most part, likable, and all have distinct personalities. Linda Schrader plays Kayla, the nymphomaniac of the group. She is there strictly for sex and is pretty much up for anything. By far, Kayla gets the worst of the abuse and it’s pretty hard to watch. Lindsey McIntire plays Ashley, who is a little more timid but wants the money that the job is offering. Ashley is forced to do all kinds of fucked up things, most of which are pretty disgusting. Maella Cai Vane plays Rachel, who is involved in the project for money and money alone and refuses to perform until she sees the cash. Rachel is the only character in the film that is able to get under the other characters’ skins and, while she gets the worst death, it feels more merciful by comparison to what everyone else goes through. The film ends rather abruptly, leaving it wide open for its sequel, House of Whores 2: The Second Cumming.

Final Thoughts

House of Whores is a sick and twisted slice of indie horror sleaze. The film is graphic, disturbing and fucked up, and it doesn’t let up until the credits roll. If you are a fan of sleazy exploitation and home invasion films, check out House of Whores. You can pick up a copy here. Stay tuned for my review of House of Whores 2: The Second Cumming.
