Horror Anthology ‘SATANIC HISPANICS’ (2022) Coming To Shudder!

Synopsis

The police raid a home in El Paso to find a massive scene of victims slaughtered with only one survivor, “The Traveler.” He is immediately taken into custody by the police for questioning. It is during this interrogation he recounts tales of horrors from his life that includes chronicling portals leading to other worlds, mythical beings, such as demons and undead, and legends from Latin America. 

This horror anthology features five Latino horror directors: Alejandro Brugués (Juan of the Dead 2011) (read our interview here), Mike Mendez (Big Ass Spider! 2013), Gigi Saul Guerrero (El Gigante 2014), Eduardo Sánchez (The Blair Witch Project 1999) (read our interview here), and Demian Rugna (When Evil Lurks 2023). It stars Efren Ramirez (Napoleon Dynamite 2004), Patricia Velasquez (The Mummy 1999), Michael C Williams (The Blair Witch Project 1999), Hemky Madera (The Happytime Murders 2018), and Greg Grunberg (Big Ass Spider! 2013).

Thoughts

It was thrilling to get the opportunity to watch the short story directed by Demian Rugna for Satanic Hispanics (2022). This director is the mastermind behind both When Evil Lurks (2023) and Terrified (2017). He is a spectacular talent that creates tense evocative horror that pushes boundaries. His style of horror is echoed throughout his contribution to Satanic Hispanics (2022). His part of this movie alone is worth taking the time to check out this horror anthology on Shudder.
