Synopsis for Hoax
An investigative team travels deep into the remote Colorado wilderness? after a group of young campers are viciously murdered by what may be ?Bigfoot. While the highly specialized crew? searches for evidence, they find themselves in a fight for survival ?against the legendary beast. What they encounter turns out to be more? unexpected and dangerous than anything they could have ever imagined.
Hoax isn’t one that isn’t meant to be taken too seriously. It’s a fun horror comedy with plenty of the Three B’s: boobs, booze, and blood, all to keep you entertained. Like many other creature feature films, it’s a bit silly at times, but I found it charming in its own way, and it made me laugh.
Part of the charm comes from the cast. There’s quite a variety in this film, and they all bring something special to the table. I especially loved Adrienne Barbeau and Brian Thompson’s characters. It was fun seeing legendary actors in roles like this and watching everything play out.
If you enjoy bloodshed, Hoax delivers. I thought the special effects were pretty awesome and fit well with the tone of the film. It has a real ’80s feel to it, combined with some modern elements, which is always a plus to me.
Final Thoughts
Hoax will be coming to VOD and Blu-Ray on August 20, 2019. It’s the perfect movie to wrap up your summer with us and figure out what is REALLY lurking in the woods.
