‘HELL HOUSE LLC: LINEAGE’ Really Delivers! – Movie Review

I’d like to start by saying that I am a massive Hell House LLC super fan for life! So when the opportunity came to review the latest movie Hell House LLC: Lineage, I all but stampeded at the chance. And it absolutely didn’t let me down. Once again helmed by Stephen Cognetti, (the director of all the other Hell House LLC films) this new chapter explores the connections between the Abaddon Hotel, Carmichael Manor, and decades of unexplained murders.

Synopsis

After a near-death experience, Vanessa Shepherd faces nightmares in Abaddon. As mysterious deaths occur around her, she discovers her connection to the Abaddon Hotel, Carmichael Manor, and decades of unexplained murders.

This new chapter explores both the events of the Carmichael Manor and the Abaddon Hotel. It does so through the eyes of Vanessa Shepherd (an amazing Elizabeth Vermilyea) who was a reporter in Hell House LLC: Lake of Fire. She has been haunted by visions and nightmares since her time at the hotel. Once people around her start dying, she decides to find out how the Carmichael Manor tragedy ties into the Abaddon Hotel deaths.

For the first time in the franchise history, the film is mostly shot in a more narrative form, keeping the mockumentary footage to a minimum. I had some reservations at first, but this style change does really work. It allows us to get into the mind of Vanessa, who has inexplicably decided to live in Abaddon instead of running to the opposite side of the earth like any sane person. She is determined to trace the origins of the Abaddon Hotel’s evil and to put a stop to it once and for all.

What I love about these films is the careful world building that the filmmakers have done over the years.  It’s such a thrill after five films to watch all the little details click together to form such an impressive puzzle. These will always be some of my favorite found footage films of all time!

I do recommend that you watch at least the third and fourth films first as a refresher before you check this one out! Hell House LLC: Lineage opens in theaters on August 20, 2025!
