Synopsis for Nine Perfect Strangers

Based on The New York Times bestselling book by author Liane Moriarty, Nine Perfect Strangers takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this ten-day retreat is the resort’s director Masha (Nicole Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect” strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.

After watching the first three episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers, I can safely say I’m 100 percent invested in this series and I can’t wait to watch what happens next. As expected from this all-star cast, the performances are spectacular, the character development is already thriving, the mystery and suspense keeps your eyes glued to the screener, and the cliffhangers are maddening!

Nicole Kidman is a gem and she was born to play a character like Masha. It’s almost eerie. There’s so much mystery to her character and I’m dying to see it all unfold. All of the other characters are broken in one way or another, but it’s nice to see of the some already started to heal, make new friendships, and discover the truth behind their pain. Of course, this is only the beginning, though. I can’t wait for more backstories on each of them and I’m secretly hoping for a romantic relationship between Melissa McCarthy’s character and Bobby Cannavale’s character. Can anyone else feel their chemistry? And it has to be said, Michael Shannon is a national treasure and I love everything he does and his character is one of my favorites thus far in Nine Perfect Strangers.

I also want to give a fair warning to viewers without spoiling anything that there are some triggering moments in this series and I’m sure there will be more throughout Nine Perfect Strangers. Some of the triggering material includes suicide, eating disorders, and a emotional scene regarding an animal. For me, I think all of this was tastefully done but still triggering none the less.

Final Thoughts

Episode four just dropped and I can’t wait to see all the madness unfold after the crazy cliffhanger ending that happened in the last episode! Have you checked you Nine Perfect Strangers? What are your thoughts so far? Make sure to check out Nine Perfect Strangers on Hulu, a new episode drops every Wednesday! #NinePerfectStrangers @Hulu
