Yes, 2017 was the year of Stephen King and oh boy, was it a successful one! King’s stories were brought to life and all made quite a ruckus in the horror community. Whether you loved them or not, each project had memorable characters that stood out and made the watch an even more enjoyable experience. Check out our list of standout King characters from 2017 and see if your favorite made the cut.
6 – Nathalie in The Mist TV Series
Although The Mist TV series didn’t do well, certain characters stood out. I personally think Frances Conroy makes everything better. I loved her character and her performance was amazing as always.

5 – Roland in The Dark Tower
The Dark Tower was another hit or miss in the horror community. I thought Matthew McConaughey and Tom Taylor both did great jobs in their prospective roles. However, Idris Elba stood out to me the most. Elba seems to kill it at anything he does, which is why, even if you don’t think you’ll like The Dark Tower, you should at least watch it for him.

4 – Beverly in IT
Sophia Lillis is a beautiful and talented actress that I hope to see more of in the future. She played the perfect Beverly Marsh in Andy Muschietti’s IT. She as the unsung hero of the film and I truly admired her bravery and beauty.

3 – Wilfred in 1922
The tale 1922 is a great story, but it definitely has a slow burn that takes a bit to get into. Thomas Jane’s performance, however, is nothing less than extraordinary. It was intense and left an uneasy feeling in my stomach.

2 – Richie in IT
Finn Wolfhard is going places. He’s proven this time and time again with his roles in Stranger Things and IT. With IT, however, we got to see a new side to him. He was a foul loudmouth with no filter that made us laugh, despite the darkness surrounding him. “Go blow your dad, you mullet wearing asshole!” Although all of the Losers are amazing, he is by far one of my favorites.

1 – Jessie in Gerald’s Game
Carla Gugino gave an outstanding performance in the Netflix adaption of Gerald’s Game, probably the best of her career. Her character, Jessie, goes through such an incredible transformation from beginning to end and it will leave you breathless. Her story is heartbreaking, riveting, and galvanizing.
