‘Humbug’ (2017) Horror Short Review – A Jolly Demented Story!

Christmas Eve is upon us and I’m trying to overdose on as much Holiday horror as I can. I had heard several people rave about the horror shot Humbug so I thought I’d give it a shot. Did it live up to its hype?

This gleeful horror short is directed by Justin Lee and Matt Thiesen. The screenplay is written by Milly Sanders who also stars in the story among Jessee Foudray.

Official Synopsis for Humbug:

When her neighbor refuses to get into the Christmas spirit, a jolly citizen takes matters into her own hands.

Humbug just may be my favorite Christmas horror story of the year! It was incredibly fun, delightfully unique, packed full of demented Christmas cheer, and killer performances.

“Bah, Humbug!”

Milly Sanders and Jessee Foudray bring their A-game! They both gave lovely and entertaining performances. However, Milly’s character blew me away. She was wickedly badass and I love how determined she is spread Christmas cheer.

As mentioned above, the story is unique and I didn’t expect it to go the way it went at all. There’s definitely a surprise or two thrown in that will have viewers loving every minute of it. Plus it’s the perfect mix of horror and comedy.

Final Thoughts:

Humbug is a MUST WATCH this Holiday season. After finishing wrapping up presents, baking goodies, and all that other fun Christmas, add this short to the list! I promise it won’t disappoint. You can view it for yourself by watching the clip down below. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Shout out to Malvolia: the Queen of Screams for hosting the #12darkdaysofxmas!
