The Dark Tower Gets First Official Trailer

The man in black fled across the desert, and the Gunslinger followed.

Like the Gunslinger, we have been following the news of the movie version of The Dark Tower for quite a few years. The wait is finally over! Today we got the very first trailer for Stephen King’s The Dark Tower from Sony Pictures. Check out the trailer below!

The Dark Tower is written and directed by Nikolaj Arcel (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) and stars Idris Elba  (Prometheus) as the Gunslinger Roland Deschain, Matthew McConaughey (Interstellar) as the man in black, Katheryn Winnick (Vikings tv series) as Laurie Chambers, Alex McGregor (Young Ones) as Susan Delgado, and Tom Taylor as (Doctor Foster) Jake Chambers.

The Gunslinger Roland Deschain roams an Old West-like landscape where “the world has moved on” while in pursuit of the man in black. He is also searching for the fabled Dark Tower in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his – our our – dying worlds.

I am a huge fan of The Dark Tower series and I’ve been anticipating this adaptation for quite some time. After viewing the trailer the anticipation has built and I can’t wait to see it when it gets released in theaters on August 4, 2017. We got a cool introduction to Jake Chambers and some seriously cool gunwork from the Gunslinger himself. What are your thoughts?
