I love films about witches, so the trailer for Two Witches had me interested right away. This is the feature film from writer-director Pierre Tsigaridis. It stars Rebekah Kennedy (To the Bone), Kristina Klebe (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Belle Adams (Perry Mason) and Tim Fox (Westworld) star.
Synopsis for Two Witches
Expectant young mother Sarah is convinced she has been given the evil eye from a?mysterious?blank-eyed old?hag while?she is dining with her bullish and insensitive partner Simon.?When the couple go to visit his new-agey friends Dustin and Melissa, dark forces are unleashed after an ill-advised attempt at consulting a Ouija board to?allay?her fears.?Meanwhile, tensions grow between grad school student Rachel and her new roommate Masha after a violent incident?involving?a man?that?the?strange and?impulsive young woman has brought home.
For me, this film was a bit of a slow burn and took me awhile to become invested. There’s a lot going on and you’re not sure how it’s all going to play out. However, as soon as Kristina Klebe and Rebekah Kennedy appeared on screen, things seemed to pick up and intensify. I love both of these actresses and they worked really well together. It was almost like they were the perfect balance of good and evil. Rebekah Kennedy on the surface appears so innocent and sweet, but in this film we get to see a whole new side to her and she killed her performance (as always).
Beyond those performances, my favorite part of Two Witches was the special effects and makeup. They didn’t hold back with the blood and gore, and there’s some pretty gruesome scenes that made me cringe (especially the stomach one – yikes).
Two Witches is now available in the US, Canada, UK and Ireland from Arrow Video. Be sure to check it out and let us know what you think!
