My Thoughts

There were low expectations going into watching Mary Had A Little Lamb (2023), but to be honest I was pleasantly surprised.

Mary Had A Little Lamb (2023) has excellent production quality that includes visually stimulating cinematography. This captured the bleak fate of the characters in the dark isolation of the woods and home. The talented cast of actors enhances this twisted take on the well-known nursery rhyme with great performances. On a side note, I had to do a double take of the lead actress, May Kelly, who plays Carla. Her resemblance to Lindsay Lohan is uncanny.

Obviously, there are some areas of Mary Had A Little Lamb (2023) that require the audience to suspend reality. Trying not to give away any spoilers, but it is well-known that lambs are herbivores. So there is that! There is the ‘Little Lamb” origin story that is a little out there as well. At the end of the day, movies are meant to challenge the imagination, so some suspension of reality is to be expected.

Final Thoughts

Mary Had a Little Lamb (2023) is what you get when The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and a childhood nursery rhyme spawn a baby. While the film is not perfect, it is definitely an enjoyable ride that makes it worth checking out. Let us know what you think.

This latest dark creation is set to be released on October 3, 2023. Rent and own it now on Vudu and other digital platforms.
