Snake Dick

Horror Short Review: ‘Snake Dick’ Is The Best 7 Minutes Of Your life!

Snake Dick is a sci-fi/fantasy short film inspired by the metaphorical manifestation of male fear towards modern female empowerment and the #MeToo movement. The film is written and directed by David Mahmoudieh, produced by George Lako, and stars Poppy Drayton (Charmed, The Shannara Chronicles) and Sierra Pond (The Wrong Daughter, Throw Like A Girl). The full length feature version of this short is currently in development.

Synopsis for Snake Dick

Two women, fleeing a city being destroyed behind them, escape through California’s dark and desolate highway. Stopping for gas, they encounter local derelicts who taunt them with their toxic masculinity. Having had enough, the girls call on the only defense they have: a deadly and mysterious weapon no one can take from them.

I’ve been wanting to watch Snake Dick for a while, and now that I finally did, I’m kicking myself for waiting so long. It’s fucking perfection, and one of the best shorts I’ve seen in a long time. I love stories about revenge, especially quirky and unique ones like this. The 2007 horror feature, Teeth, is a guilty pleasure of mine, but Snake Dick is far superior in all aspects.

Snake Dick | Nightstream

Sierra Pond and Poppy Drayton both deliver badass and charismatic performances with style, beauty, and wit that rolled off the tongue perfectly. Their secret weapons are just a bonus. Poppy’s character is my new hero as she had those men dropping to their knees and squealing like the pigs they truly are!

The special effects in Snake Dick are phenomenal and don’t miss a beat. With a story like this that takes place in an important #MeToo movement atmosphere, you don’t want it to look too corny, and surprisingly it didn’t at it. It was brilliant, and I couldn’t wait for the big reveal.

Final Thoughts

I’m LIVING for this short, hands down the best 7 minutes of my life (or at least recently, haha). As soon as it was over, I internally screamed, “This needs to be a full-feature!” I’m so glad that it’s going to be because a story like this deserves a longer runtime. I highly recommend checking out Snake Dick. You can watch it by clicking the video down below and make sure to share it with your friends!
