Coming Soon: New Indie Slasher ‘BUTCHERS BLUFF’

I’m a huge fan of down and dirty slashers so Butchers Bluff sounds like it’s right up my alley. Thankfully I won’t have to wait long as the film is releasing soon through Breaking Glass Pictures.

Check out the trailer below, then read on for the details!

Synopsis

Set in a reclusive Texas town where 28 people have mysteriously vanished over the past two decades, Butchers Bluff follows the students as they seek to uncover the truth behind the Hogman legend for their thesis project. What begins as an ambitious academic endeavor turns into a horrifying fight for survival.

With its unflinching gore, nerve-wracking tension, and nostalgic nods to slasher classics, Butchers Bluff promises to be a visceral and thrilling experience for horror enthusiasts.

Butchers Bluff was directed by William Instone (The Sawyer Massacre) and Matt Rifley from a script by William Instone and Renfield Rasputin. The film stars Michael Fischer (Red 11), Paige Steakley (The Place We Hide), Johnny Huang (Bloodthirst), Paul T. Taylor (Hellraiser Judgement), Bill Oberst Jr. (Kill Craft), William Instone (Dr Gift), Jeremy London (Hunt Club), L.C. Holt (You’re Next), Brinke Stevens (House on Haunted Hill), and Bill Johnson (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2).

Breaking Glass Pictures is excited to announce the release of Butchers Bluff, a blood-soaked homage to 1980s slasher films, on March 11, 2025. Directed by William Instone and Matt Rifley, this bone-chilling horror film pits a group of college film students against the dark and twisted urban legend of the Hogman.

The film won Best Score and Best of Fest at Ethereal Horror Film Festival, Best FX in a Feature Film at the Houston Horror Film Festival, and Best Productions and Best Slasher Film at FANtastic Horror Film Festival.

Rich Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures had this to say about the project.

“Director William Instone masterfully sets the tone in Butchers Bluff, a blood-soaked homage to 1980s slasher films. His confident—and unapologetically brutal—direction makes for an unforgettable viewing experience.”

If that’s not enough to get you interested, here’s some testimonials from people who’ve seen the film.

Butchers Bluff looks like a killer good time that harkens back to the Golden Age of slashers. Are you excited to check out Butchers Bluff? Let us know in the comments!
