PopHorror Let's Get Scared
Julian Sands, a beloved horror actor from such films as Warlock, The Phantom of the Opera (1998), and, more recently, The Ghosts of Monday (2022), was reported missing after hiking in the Baldy Bowl hiking area on January 13, 2023. The Baldy Bowl Area is located in the San Gabriel Mountains, 40 miles north of Los Angelos.
His family released a statement via the Sheriff’s Department on Monday, January 23, 10 days after he went missing, saying:
“We are deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support. Our heartfelt thanks to the compassionate members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department who are coordinating the search for our beloved Julian.”
Hazardous weather, including high winds and winter storms, have hindered rescue efforts. Cell phone pings from the actor’s iPhone showed that he was nearing the summit of Mount Baldy, the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains when he disappeared.
Rescue efforts continue, and we will certainly report any and all updates about Mr. Julian Sands.
