Art The Clown Becomes POP!-ified With New Funko Figures

Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton, The Mean One 2022 – read our interview here) has officially cemented his status as a horror icon with the highly-anticipated release of Terrifier Funko POP! vinyl figures.

Franchise creator Damien Leone announced the collection on July 9, just as pre-orders were beginning to go live on Amazon and other collectibles sites. He said:

“I can honestly say there’s nothing cooler than this! I’ve been dying to share this news for almost a year and now that I see people are pre-ordering, it’s time to share! We have an official line of Art the Clown Funko POPs!. As a Funko collector, I must say this is one of the biggest honors and a dream come true! Most importantly I’m excited for you guys because I can’t tell you how many Terrifier fans have come up to me over the years asking when an official POP! is gonna be released! Well, here they are and I really hope you enjoy them.”

Slated for release on Sept. 27 (with an estimated arrival date of Sept. 30 if you ordered through Amazon), the Terrifier Funko POP! series includes three main designs: bloody Art standing and doing his signature post-kill shrug, clean Art standing and welding a knife, and another clean Art waving from his tricycle.

There is also a Funko-exclusive of Art wearing his sunflower glasses, as seen in Terrifier 2. Those who opt for this version have the possibility of receiving a bloody Chase variant. At the time of this writing, there was no option to pre-order the Funko-exclusive, but there is an option to be notified via email when they’re available at the Funko website.

Throughout the day on July 10, horror fans flocked to Amazon to secure their pre-orders of the main three designs, with each consistently selling out as soon as more became available. Yours truly spent the better part of the afternoon refreshing the page until finally, I was able to snag my three new little killer buddies.

Due to such early excitement and sales, Leone is hopeful for a second batch that includes more characters. In response to an Instagram comment that asked about a Sienna (Lauren LaVera, The Well 2023) POP!, he said, “If these do well I’m sure it’s possible! I would love one.” Many fans also requested a Little Pale Girl (Amelie McLain, Transference 2020 [our interview]) POP!, which we’re sure would be creepily adorable.

In the meantime, the Art the Clown Funko POPs! will be settling in at their new homes just in time for the release of Terrifier 3, in theaters Oct. 11.
