Paramount Pictures broke the news this week that not one, but TWO feature films are in development based on their hit horror franchise, A Quiet Place. This is according to multiple sources, including Paramount Plus’s own Twitter account. We loved the original (read our review here) and the sequel (read our review here), so you know we’re super excited!
Check out the big news!
A Quiet Place Sequel AND Spinoff?
Michael Sarnoski’s PIG (read our review here) was a big critical darling, so it’s exciting to see what he’ll do with A Quiet Place. His spinoff is due out in 2023 and it’s not expected to follow the core story or characters of the first two films. It’s believed to be a fresh spin set in the same universe (ala Walking Dead: World Beyond). Interesting!
A Quiet Place Part III, the more formal sequel, is set for 2025. There’s no word yet who will write or direct or how much of the core cast will be back, but you know we’ll bring you the news as soon as it becomes available. Given the massive success of the first two films, I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that Emily Blunt will return. Rumor has it, Part III’s story is based on one of writer/director John Krasinski’s ideas, so we’ll have to see if that leads to him writing the full movie and/or directing it.
As we said, once we know, you’ll know. Stay tuned!
