PopHorror Let's Get Scared
One of our favorite horror authors and writer for PopHorror, Tim Miller, who has written over 40 books so far, mostly in the extreme horror genre, which he has continued to push, most recently with Snuff Film. Tim has decided to branch off into a different direction for his upcoming book, Blood Wolf: Book 1 of the Nikki Blade Bounty Hunter series, an urban fantasy novel. Yes, you read that right. Tim Miller wrote an urban fantasy novel.
Blood Wolf official synopsis:
Nikki Blade is a former cop turned bounty hunter. Her life was already exciting enough, chasing down the city’s most dangerous criminals. That is, until after a violent werewolf attack. When the mother of the victim hires her to find the creature responsible, Nikki sets forth on a path of no return. She will soon discover beneath the dark underbelly of her city, there is something much darker and more sinister. Will she survive her hunt for the Blood Wolf?
My Thoughts
Blood Wolf is a quick, fun read. Nikki Blade is the badass broad we all strive to be. The thing I love about urban fantasy is that it is set in day to day life, but has elements of the paranormal to spice it up. Seriously, I hope that there are worlds like this out there.
Tim’s world of Nikki Blade is fantastic! Nikki is a bounty hunter hired by the mother of a victim of a recent werewolf attack in the woods. Nikki begins her investigation by going to a club called The Underground, which proves to be helpful not only in the investigation of this attack, but pivotal to her finding out more about her true self and this unknown world. Blood Wolf is a fun ride as she discovers creatures and beings of a world that she didn’t know existed. The standards of vampires, werewolves, witches, ghouls and zombies (Oh my!) are shattered with a fresh perspective. There’s a lot of action, some humor and to answer your question – yes, there is blood!
I don’t like to give too much away in my reviews. Trust me, you need to read this book. If you love urban fantasy, you will love this book. If you are a seasoned Tim Miller fan, I believe you will be pleasantly surprised by this one. I am anxiously awaiting the next book to continue this journey with Nikki Blade.
