The Rocky Horror Picture Show came at a time in my life when I needed it the most. The film’s focus sucked me right in, and I became a super-fan. I attended all the fun things you can dream of in the fan club. The film catered to anyone who felt different, and that was always important to me. Whether you were struggling with the wrong sexual identity, or, for me, just being weird, because that’s how the obsession was noted by my family, because it wasn’t “normal,” they weren’t gonna break my love for Strange Journey.
Before I tell my life story, let’s get into the review.
Synopsis
After getting lost coming home from a wedding, lovers Brad and Janet experience even more car trouble leading to a flat tire. What they find in a local castle, the fun begins. The two were greted by the gender bending Dr. Frankenfurter, who invites them to as party like they have never seen before. After relying on storms, the doctors biggest project was given life. Will Brad and Janet survive the night?

A Legacy
There wasn’t much left to desire at first, and it drove people away, even during the play that inspired the movie. After thinking they failed. They were given the gift of an obsessive culture, and I mean obsessive. Little by little, the fans poured in after hearing nothing but negativity about the film. The film goes in-depth on several subjects that the world is afraid of. Those reviews weren’t worth much and were very long and drawn out, because that’s what people do, especially how they feel about someone being able to love who they feel inside.
The midnight showings are a legendary point in the horror-musical history. The film cuts very deep wounds about the “Don’t Dream It, Be It” safe place. At the theater showings, everyone came together and played the parts they loved most. Men being women and women wanting to be men is something brave. Why do we concern ourselves with someone else’s choice when we should inspire the audience demographics? The cast had no care and paid no attention to the backlash.

I feel that in modern times, no one could create such a beautiful background and story. Watching Strange Journey helped me to realize the love of being yourself. I watched this film when I was super young, so I never caught all the jokes and references. As I grew older, I started to notice things that already gave me comfort even before knowing. Strange Journey will make fans of the film love it even more.
In The End
In the end, as I said, this documentary gave me life lessons I never knew about before. Though I do not relate, I find the idea of cross-dressers very brave. Why? Because they can wake up the LGBTQ community, no matter how hard it seems sometimes. I give you all the love in the world for being yourself. That is my takeaway from this documentary. I would rate this even higher than 10, because it will open a lot of world views.
