10 Spooky Movies To Watch With Your Family – If You Can Find Them!

I was raised on horror and have been into it since I was five. Sometimes, movies get a little spooky, so after a film that bothered me, I would watch a friendly family special. Here are some real gems waiting for you. Let’s get to it. Here are ten movies you may have let fade into oblivion. Here we go!

10. The Witches (1990)

Based on a book by Roald Dahl, this is hit or miss. Even if it is child-friendly, there is some spooky stuff, but it is staying here, So give it a go and see how they react. In 2020, the movie was rebooted to be more modern. I say boo. Unfortunately, this movie is only streaming on Amazon Prime. However, it is very cheap to rent.

9. The Little Vampire (2000)

I had a little love for this movie, but I didn’t care; I still like it. The setting is obviously for kids, as you can tell. It is a classic, a classic that everyone forgets. You can find this movie on all the big streaming services to rent or buy.

8: Dont Look Under the Bed (1999)

Once upon a time, you would patiently wait for the Disney original movies. Not going to lie, I was a big fan of a lot of them, and it sucks that Disney is holding it hostage from streaming on Dinsey+ again, one you can only rent from all the big companies. Don’t look under the bed. It was a little creepy but more on the comedy side.

R.L. Stine’s Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It (2007)

The Movie was released in 2007, and it’s a fun little flick. Also, it gets a little spooky, so remember, if you want your kids to see the great classics, take baby steps. It’s a lesson not to play with things beyond your imagination. The movie was released directly to DVD and fell off the map. In a series of Haunting Hour movies, this is still my favorite of them all.

7. Girl Vs. Monster (2012)

What happens when you find out your parents are monster hunters? Another great Disney original movie. It seems they hide all their original movies. When the monster captured Mom and Dad, you had to kick some monsters butt.

6.  Arachnophobia (1990)

This movie doesn’t get enough credit, especially for people like me who hate spiders. So yeah, this caught me off guard. Will kids enjoy a movie about spiders running amuck? Maybe some of these kids will find an outlook of enjoying gross horror movies. As I said before, all you can do is try.

5. Return of the Living Dead II (1988)

Yes, I went there. This film will always be one of my favorite comedies. Some of it is gross; once again, all you can do is try. There is no actual graphic violence; all the gore is planned to use shadows that depict violence

The good news is that it can be found on many free streaming services, such as Tubi and Freevee.

4.  The Midnight Hour (1985)

It’s a Halloween special that pulled no punches; you’ll be spooked a little. Well, maybe a lot. I would wait until they get some other movies under their belt and get used to horror movies and how spooky they can be. So proceed with caution.

3. When Good Ghouls Go Bad (2001)

This is hands down my favorite made-for-TV movie. The story is excellent, and there’s nothing too spooky about it. Plus, you can find it on YouTube. Enjoy this forgotten treasure! Starring Christopher Lloyd. You can find this whole movie on YouTube.

2: Under Wraps (1997)

This movie has such a sad story of being forgotten by Disney. However, you can easily find a lot of these types of movies on YouTube. I am furious about this movie because I love it so much. I patiently waited for it to come across my TV to make the Halloween season even better.

  1.  Mom Has A Date With A Vampire (2007)

The newest movie that came at the end of the Disney Original Movie hype. These movies were fading fast. It is such a sad reality when you realize the movies you grew up on are sharing are 20-some years old, even older for others. Disney movies dominate this list, but this one still exists to buy or rent on Amazon, in a steal-for-a-price range, because no one wants to bother with it.

There you have it: ten movies you can barely find anywhere. One or two have snuck into the ranks of free streaming; the others are mostly Disney movies.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy these great family horror movies you may have forgotten about.
