Toxie Is An Honorary Member Of The Avengers Editorial… No, Wait! Hear Me Out

Growing up, I loved comics, and I loved watching Troma movies. We didn’t have a whole lot of superhero movies or shows back then, and the ones we did have… well, they were suitable for that time. Back in the olden days, we had funny cartoons like Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, and even Batman. Now and then, we had some decent comic book movies although nowhere near perfect. We had no idea what the future would hold for us, so we just took it all in and were grateful for what we had.

The exception to the rule is the movie, The Toxic Avenger. The plot is pretty simple:

Tromaville has a monstrous new hero. The Toxic Avenger is born when meek mop boy Melvin falls into a vat of toxic waste. Now, evildoers will have a lot to lose.

The story itself is even simpler: gore, blood, boobs, language, and humor. For some, this is disgusting or even vile. For gorehounds and comic fans, however, this film was perfect. But why do I think Toxie is an honorary member of The Avengers?

Let me explain…

1. Marvel released the comics for The Toxic Avenger in 1991-92.

2: Tromaville (where Toxie was created) is in New Jersey. The Avengers primarily work out of New York which just across the river from there.

3. The Avengers creator Stan Lee and Lloyd Kaufman are friends. Stan even did the voice-over for The Toxic Avenger

4. Since Stan and Lloyd are best friends and creators of their own work, so there’s no reason why the two franchises can’t co-exist in the same canon. Honestly a Toxic Avenger, Blade or Ghost Rider team up would be amazing!

5. Plus in some instances, many characters from Marvel have helped The Avengers in battle when the case called for it. So, why not Toxie? He fights for what’s right and is against evil. He’s incorruptible and a sweet guy who cares for others when he’s not fighting crime. Plus, he has his Toxic Crusaders making sure to fight evil together when he can’t do it alone. He watches over New Jersey, and if given a chance, he would go into battle. For all we know, he helped cleaned up all the ashes from the decimation in Infinity War.

So, what do you think? Could Toxie team up with The Avengers? Let us know in the comments!
