TerrorVision Turns 40!

It’s wild to think that 40 years have gone by since the cult favorite Terrorvision first blasted onto screens on Valentine’s Day of 1986. This movie was written and directed by Ted Nicolaou (read our interview with him HERE). The killer cast includes Diane Franklin (Better Off Dead 1985), Mary Woronov (Chopping Mall 1986), Gerrit Graham (Chopping Mall 1986), Chad Allen (The Bad Seed 1985), Jon Gries (Napoleon Dynamite 2005), and Bert Remsen (Dead Ringer 1964). To say it is pure madness is an incredible understatement!

TerrorVision pretends to be about a normal suburban family—then immediately throws that idea out the window. The Puttermans are gloriously weird, and things go from strange to slimy when they buy a “state-of-the-art” satellite dish. Instead of crystal-clear TV, they accidentally invite a gooey, flesh-munching alien into their home, completely ruining their swingin’ good time and turning suburban bliss into intergalactic chaos.

TerrorVision was not particularly well received upon its initial release, but over the years it has gained appreciation and developed a devoted cult following. This evolution was discussed in depth with Diane Franklin during a previous interview celebrating the film, along with many other behind-the-scenes details. Now, in honor of the film’s 40th anniversary, let’s revisit some of our favorite lines!
