Short Horror Film, ‘Me & My Shadow’ (2020), Shines Light On The Crisis Of Suicide – Movie Review

In the new short horror film, Me & My Shadow, directed by Steve Call (Tears In The Dust 2017), the subject of depression and suicide is touched on in an interesting and thoughtful manner. The film stars Dean Sills (Grindsploitation 2016) and clocks in at a brisk five minutes long.

Synopsis:

A man called Karl, who has lost his job and his wife has left him, is suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts, hearing voices in his head and seeing hallucinations.

Despite this short running time, Call’s Me & My Shadow portrays a complex and complete message. The director also used both live action and drawings to the film, adding to the hallucinatory feel. The music and sound effects are clean and well done. It’s impressive work, and everything together makes this a must see short!
