Rest In Peace Steve Dash – Jason from ‘Friday the 13th Part 2’

It is with heavy hearts that we here at PopHorror announce the passing of Steve Dash.

According to HorrorSociety, “Monster Mania, the East Coast’s biggest horror con, is reporting that Steve Dash, who played Sack Jason in Friday the 13th: Part 2, passed away yesterday, December 18th 2018, due to complications stemming from a long battle with diabetes. Dash, who was a frequent guest at the popular con, was 74 years old at the time of his passing.”

Dash updated his Facebook on December 6th, penning a short post to update fans on his critical health condition:

I have an update on my condition. They’re amputating my left leg tomorrow afternoon. It’s been pretty tough suffering from diabetes, blood clots and a bad heart over the last year. I welcome the decision I’ve made because I will be able to play golf in 6-8 weeks with a brand new leg. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and personal messages to me. The [Friday the 13th] fans are the best fans on the planet.

Steve is also known for his work on 9½ Weeks (1986), and Equalizer 2000 (1987). We here at PopHorror mourn the loss of one of the horror community’s most likeable members. We send our love to his friends, family, and fans during this rough time.
