PH – Hi, Amber! Thanks for talking with PopHorror! First things first – how did you become involved in the acting industry? What inspired you to do it?

Amber Dawn Fox – Hi! I got started in the industry back in 2009 by finding a random ad online looking for background extras for One Tree Hill. It started out as a hobby, something fun to do in my spare time. I think I knew being on set was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life instantly, although it seemed like a crazy dream at the time. After working as a background extra off and on for several years, I started taking acting classes and auditioning for speaking roles in 2014. I have been going at it full time ever since. I was mostly inspired by my love of being on set. I realized it had become a passion, and decided to follow my dream.

PH – Oh, that’s so cool! What was the first film you ever did?

Amber Dawn Fox – My first film role as an extra was in Dear John, and then I did several student films and short films where I got started getting speaking roles. It has been a fun process, taking it one step at a time.

PH – Your role as Officer Bello in The Walking Dead TV series was awesome. What was that experience like for you?

Amber Dawn Fox – That experience was amazing for two different reasons. First, as an actress, it was a chance of a lifetime to have a named role in such a huge TV series. It brought me a fan following and opened doors to other opportunities in the industry as well. I will be forever grateful for being a part of it. Second, as a fan of the show, I was beyond excited to get to work on that set.  It is so much fun to get to be a part of a show you watch every week on TV! I loved meeting the cast and watching how they worked. The Walking Dead was one of my favorite sets I have worked on!

PH – That’s exciting that you got to be a part of something that you loved! Tell us about your newest film, Descending. What’s it about?

Amber Dawn Fox – Descending is a vampire horror film. It is the latest installment in a series of films. I play the wife of Craven, who’s played by Alex Vincent from the Child’s Play films.

PH – Sounds awesome. How did the casting process come about?

Amber Dawn Fox – This one was Facebook networking by accident. A friend of mine, Moses J. Moseley, who played one of Michonne’s pet walkers on The Walking Dead, had been cast in it first and announced it on his page. I congratulated him and liked the Descending page to show support. Not too long after, one of the executive producers got in contact with me to discuss the role and the rest is history.

PH – I love Moses! I just recently chatted with him for an interview as well. You play the character of Sabrina. What’s she like and can you relate to her at all?

Amber Dawn Fox – Without giving anything away, she is basically a wife concerned for her husband. So, being married myself, I can very much relate to her.

PH – You’re working with a great cast and, as previously mentioned, a fellow Walking Dead cast member. What’s it like working with such talented people on a project like this?

Amber Dawn Fox – This was a project I looked forward to a lot because of who was attached to it. I knew Moses from doing comic cons together, so it was cool to be credited in a film with him as well. Also, being a fan of the Child’s Play films, I was excited to get to act opposite Alex Vincent. It is always fun getting to work with new people on new sets, but when those people are recognizable and have been in the industry a long time, I like to take the opportunity to learn from them as well.

PH – Speaking of which, you’ve already worked with a lot of talented people in your career, but is there anyone who would the be ultimate dream to work with?

Amber Dawn Fox – I have been very lucky, but any actor that has been around for a long time is a dream of mine, like I mentioned before. They must be doing something right and I’d love to watch them work.

PH – Definitely! You’ve dabbled in quite a bit of horror. Is this one of your favorite genres?

Amber Dawn Fox – It is! After The Walking Dead, horror roles kept popping up. I don’t mind at all, but I am a fan of many different genres as well, including drama and comedy.

PH – Me, too! Do you have any other upcoming projects you’d like to talk about?

Amber Dawn Fox – I have a film called The Haunting of Four Points in which I play the lead role of Evie. She is a paranormal investigator. It is a horror comedy so that one was a lot of fun. It’s being released in just a few months so be sure to look it up on Facebook or follow me for updates!
