Netflix’s Fever Dream was a wild expereince. The film was directed by Claudia Llosa as well as written by herself and Samantha Schweblin. It also based on the novel by Samanta Schweblin. It stars María Valverde, Dolores Fonzi, Germán Palacios, Guillermo Pfening, Emilio Vodanovich, Guillermina Sorribes, Marcelo Michinaux, and Cristina Banegas.

Fever Dream

Synopsis for Fever Dream

A young woman lies dying far from home. A boy sits beside her. She is not his mother. He is not her child. Together, they tell a haunting story of broken souls, an invisible threat, and the power and desperation of family.

This is the type of film that you have to pay close attention to because there’s so much going on and it jumps back in forth between different time periods. There’s a lot to unpack with Fever Dream, and it makes you wonder if you would have made the same decision as the mother did or if you would have done things differently. It’s emotional and powerful.

Fever Dream

This film as a strong female peformances from both María Valverde and Dolores Fonzi. They deliver strong and emotionally powerful performances and have great chemistry, but you can also feel the tension between them. Both are mothers with a natural need to protect their children.

One of the best things about Fever Dream was the wonderful cinematography and imagery. It feels beautifully haunting and has a dreamlike feel to it throughout the film. Sometimes it feels like none of it is real and at any moment we will wake up.

This a film that takes patience and understanding, but definitly worth a watch. Fever Dream will begin streaming via Netflix on October 13, 2021, so be sure to check it out! #FeverDream #DistanciaDeRescate @NetflixFilm
