I’m a huge fan of revenge cinema, so when I was offered the chance to review the vigilante film Death Bitch, I gladly accepted. Was Death Bitch a solid vigilante film?

Synopsis
Alexis Walker lost her mother and brother in a home invasion. Now Alexis has become a vigilante and walks the streets in search of vengeance. All the while a serial killer known as The South Bay Slasher adds more victims to his list.
Death Bitch was directed by Ken “Ace” Brewer (Zombie Rage) from a script he wrote with Meri Gyetvay (Like Father, Like Daughter). The film stars Linnea Swanson (Zombie Rage), Ken Brewer, Traci Burr (Space Sharks), August Kyss (Murdercise), Bridget Powers (Big Money Rustlas), Josi Kat (From Dusk Till Bong), Meri Gyetvay, Doug Waugh (Terror Toons 4), Tom Grindle (Death Park: The End) and Al Zuniga (Zombie Rage).
When I first started watching Death Bitch I was a little disappointed. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to take it seriously. It was kind of ridiculous. I decided to shut my brain off and just try to enjoy the ride and I’m glad I did, because once I did, I enjoyed it immensely.
Death Bitch follows Alexis, a young woman whose mother and younger brother were killed in a home invasion. She decides to take justice into her own hands and get revenge. This intertwines with the story of the detectives investigating the vigilante, a serial killer on the lose and the detectives investigating the serial killer. These storylines converge into a ridiculously fun final act, that according to IMDb, contains 166 gunshots.
Death Bitch is the type of film that is best enjoyed the less you think about it. It’s got some hilarious dialogue, some ridiculously staged action scenes, and some really fun characters. I really enjoyed Alexis and the four detectives. It was fun to see Bridget “The Midget” Powers playing a gang member, who at one point jumps on top of someone and gleefully stabs them to death. There is also a homeless man who randomly seems to be around all the time to witness some horrific shit, yet somehow doesn’t die (or at least I don’t think he did; the final act is pretty chaotic).
Final Thoughts
Death Bitch is the type of film you shut your brain off and enjoy or watch with some friends with some pizza and beers. If you can do that you just might enjoy it like I did. Recommended.
