Jason Rising

‘JASON RISING’ Fan Film Premieres Friday, August 13th!

Friday the 13th is my favorite, unofficial National holiday. Every time one comes around (which isn’t often enough), I find myself Jonesing to watch Jason Voorhees (or his mother) wreak havoc on unsuspecting, pot smoking, horny camp counselors. The only problem? I’ve seen all the Friday films dozens, maybe hundreds of times each! For the last several calendar Friday the 13ths, I’ve found myself seeking my Jason fix in a less familiar form: fan films. There are a lot of them out there, some better than others, but for the most part all of them are fun. This Friday the 13th, I plan to treat myself to JASON RISING, an all new Friday the 13th fan film from Red Crow films. It looks badass!

JASON RISING Synopsis

Jason Rising follows Wessex County police officer Pete Daltry along with two local bounty hunters, Jed and Bear, hot on the trail of three escapees from the Wessex County Corrections Farm. Soon after realizing their chase has led them onto the cursed grounds of Camp Crystal Lake, Daltry and his men quickly discover they are the ones being hunted.

James Sweet directed the film. It stars Kyle Vahan, Anna Campbell, Jason Reynolds, Jerry Bell Jr, Lisa Sorenson, Jennie Vaugh, and Elizabeth Garrett. Featuring Dan Kyle as Jason.

Final Thoughts

Wow, this looks badass! Professionally shot. Great production design. Looks like top notch acting, too. And it looks like some original Friday actors and actresses might be making surprise appearances. How cool! It sure looks like a film that cost a lot more than the $38,000 they raised on IndieGogo. I can’t wait to watch it!

What do you think? Will you spend your Friday the 13th watching Jason Rising? Tell us in the comments!
