[Interview] Actress Lucie Guest Plays Circe in ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Part 3

Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is one of the hottest shows currently streaming right now. Part 3 just dropped last week and now we can’t for Part 4. PopHorror recently got the opportunity to interview Lucie Guest, who plays Circe in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 3. Learn more about her amazing career, her dazzling character Circe, and her favorite characters aka lovers on the show!

PopHorror – It’s great to talk with you, Lucie. What made you/inspired you to want to be an actress?

Lucie Guest – I think it’s something I always knew I wanted to do from a young age. I loved performing in school musicals and plays. We moved around a lot growing up and drama class is where I was always able to make new friends quickly. So I think it captured my attention early.

PopHorror – It seems like you’ve worked on several TV series and also films. Do you prefer one over the other? Is one more challenging?

Lucie Guest – I like them both. I think it’s more dependent on the project and/or the team behind the project…some projects or characters draw me in more than others. It’s always fun to work on TV projects because of how fast-paced it is and how quickly they are released afterward. But I also enjoy the pacing of a film and this village of people you get close to for a few months and then it’s over and you have a party, haha.

PopHorror – That’s true! You’ve also dabbled in some Hallmark Christmas movies. I may be a horror girl, but my guilty pleasure is Hallmark Christmas movies, lol. Do you enjoy doing them and do you watch them yourself?

Lucie Guest – Haha! YES! I’m a sucker for a good cozy Christmas movie by the YouTube fire log! I’m also one of those people who likes Christmas nostalgia movies. Filming them is hilarious though because it’s usually in the dead of summer and you are sweating your butt off in a winter coat and scarf and surrounded by fake snow, drinking hot cocoa but you wish it was a cup of ice.

PopHorror – Oh wow, I never thought about that, haha! What was it like working on such an amazing show like Orphan Black?

Lucie Guest – A dream. I would do pretty much most things to work with Tatiana Maslany again. She is a talented and beautiful human inside and out. She is a lot of fun to work with because she is so present and fluid in a scene.

PopHorror – That’s awesome! How did you get involved with the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina?

Lucie Guest – I was a fan of the show. I was one of those people who had the pilot premiere on a countdown; the teaser looked so good. I’m also a fan of Lee Toland Krieger’s work! I heard they were casting a new character, I auditioned for it and my agent told me I got the part while I was driving so I did a fun car dance party for one.

PopHorror – Hell yes! You play Circe, can you tell us about her?

Lucie Guest – Circe is one of the pagans and is part of the mysterious carnival that rolls into town to stir up some trouble. Circe is an old Goddess. She is a layered and “other-worldly” character with old magic and rituals. I believe she was inspired by the Greek mythology of Circe who was known for turning men into pigs.

PopHorror – So awesome! Will we be seeing much of her in Part 3? Not sure if you can say.

Lucie Guest – Without spilling too much, Circe and the Pagans are on the hunt for something in particular. They want to resurrect an ancient evil that poses a threat to the Spellmans and the entire coven…

PopHorror – Do you have any favorite characters in Sabrina?

Lucie Guest – I have a favorite character every episode and it always changes! I will say that I am Team Nabrina. Shhh – don’t tell Habrina.

PopHorror – Haha yes! You’ve done so many different types of roles. Is there one you haven’t done yet that you’re dying to sink your teeth into?

Lucie Guest – I like playing strong comedic and complex characters.

PopHorror – Any upcoming projects?

Lucie Guest – I am writing a few more projects right now and will be directing another movie in a couple of months.
