Coming Soon to Theaters: Yusuke Hirota’s ‘Poupelle of Chimney Town’ (2021)

Coming soon to theaters is a animated film directed by Yusuke Hirota and based on the picture book by Akihiro Nishino called Poupelle of Chimney Town. It features the voice talents of Masataka Kubota (13 Assassins), Mana Ashida (Entaku), Shingo Fujimori (In Hand TV series), and Rina Honizumi (Plunderer TV series). It will be released at the end of December, 2021.

Synopsis:

Poupelle of Chimney Town is the story of young Lubicchi living among the thick smoke from the chimneys of his isolated town, yearning to see the “stars” — to know the truth — his father always told him about. One Halloween night, he meets Poupelle, a man made of garbage, and together they look to the sky as their adventure begins.
