Check Out The Ultra Insane Trailer For Rob Jabbaz’s ‘The Sadness’ (2021)

The Sadness is the new film you’re going to want to watch. The title may not sound like your typical horror movie, however, the trailer shows that this film will be an explosive debut film for new director Rob Jabbaz (Clear Water 2020). This is the first feature film from the filmmaker who has done a few short films. The Sadness stars Regina, Tzu-Chiang Wang, and Berant Zhu.

The synopsis of the film:

After a year of combating a pandemic with relatively benign symptoms, a frustrated nation finally lets its guard down. This is when the virus spontaneously mutates, giving rise to a mind-altering plague. The streets erupt into violence and depravity as those infected are driven to enact the most cruel and ghastly things they can think of. Murder, torture, rape, and mutilation are only the beginning. A young couple is pushed to the limits of sanity as they try to reunite amid the chaos. The age of civility and order is no more. There is only The Sadness.

The synopsis for The Sadness states that rape, murder, torture and mutilation are only the beginning. Hearing this, one can only imagine what gruesome details will unfold. The trailer pulls no punches and shows that this director is talented and has a lot to showcase.

You may feel that The Purge movies are intense enough, but this film will leave them in the dust. As of right now there’s no word yet of a Digital, On Demand, Blu-ray, or DVD of digital release. A tour of film festivals is set for right now. I’m here to tell you that The Sadness is a film that PopHorror will be following.

The trailer is Red Band, so for those who may be squeamish, we suggest you take our word for it: this clip is definitely NSFW. Judging by the looks, it doesn’t appear that those infected are afflicted with a zombie virus since the infected are conscious and able to talk. We can’t wait to see how this film plays out!
