Blu-Ray Review: ‘CREEPSHOW Season 2’ (2021) Delivers A Mix Of Horrifyingly Wonderful Tales!

I’m incredibly impressed by CREEPSHOW Season 2. The five-episode season and bonus episodes A Creepshow Animated Special and A Creepshow Holiday Special from showrunner Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead) star Kevin Dillon (Entourage), Ted Raimi (Buddy Thunderstruck), Ali Larter (House On Haunted Hill), Thomas Howell (The Amazing Spider-Man), Iman Benson (Alexa and Katie), Josh McDermitt (The Walking Dead), Ashley Laurence (Hellraiser Franchise), Keith David (21 Bridges), Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Breckin Meyer (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past), Molly Ringwald (Riverdale), Eric Edelstein (Shameless), Barbara Crampton (Jakob’s Wife), Denise Crosby (Ray Donovan), Justin Long (Lady of the Manor), D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place), Kiefer Sutherland (Designated Survivor), Joey King (The Kissing Booth), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), and Adam Pally (Happy Endings).

It’s still the most fun you’ll ever have being scared! Following CREEPSHOW Season 1’s Saturn Award 2021 win for Best DVD/BD Television Release comes the second season of CREEPSHOW, the anthology series based on the 1982 horror comedy classic. A comic book comes to life in nine chilling tales told across five episodes. Explore terrors ranging from murder, creatures, monsters and delusions to the supernatural and unexplainable. You never know what will be on the next page….

I’ll have to rewatch season 1 to be certain, but I’m pretty sure I’m loving season 2 of CREEPSHOW even more! This awesome horror anthology has 5 different episodes, all unique and horrifying with an incredible all-star cast. You never know what to expect next and the special effects are brilliant. One of the best parts of the anthology is all of the special nods and easter eggs to classic horror movies, pop-culture icons, and memorabilia such a Night of the Living Dead, Necronomicon, and Bob Ross.

As I just mentioned, this cast is incredible, I can’t believe they got so much talent involved with this anthology. In doing so, I think it will encourage viewers who aren’t typically horror fans to check it out. All of the performances are phenomenal but one of the stand-out performances is from the incredible Barbara Crampton (read our interview with her – HERE) in Episode 4: “Pipe Screams/Within the Walls of Madness”. There’s nothing she can’t do. Barbara’s character is ruthless and evil yet, the worse landlady ever.  I also enjoyed Justin Long’s character in Episode 5: “Night of the Living Late Show”. What a weasel. Everything about that episode was awesome and I love the concept of an escape pod.

Creepshow Season 2 – Kevin Dillon

CREEPSHOW Season 2 has amazing special effects, makeup, and hair design. The special effects in Episode 4: “Pipe Screams/Within the Walls of Madness” were horrifyingly perfect. It was probably one of my favorite episodes of the anthology because of how well done the effects were. I also truly love the magic Katie Ballard (read my interview – HERE) made happen with all the different styles of hair for the characters especially with Kevin Dillon in Episode 1: “Model Kid/Public Television of the Dead”. The look transformed him and made him extra sleazy.
