This highly anticipated sequel was written and directed by Lowell Dean (WolfCop). The film stars Leo Fafard (WolfCop), Yannick Bisson (Murdoch Mysteries), Amy Matysio (Epic Studios), Jonathan Cherry (Goon: Last of the Enforcers), Serena Miller (Separation Anxiety), and Kevin Smith (Clerks).

Official Synopsis for Another Wolfcop:

A year has passed since the dark eclipse transformed hard-drinking Officer Lou Garou (Fafard) into the infamous lycanthrope crime-fighter. Although the evil that controlled Woodhaven was defeated, the community is far from returning to normal. A villainous entrepreneur (Bisson) is looking to open a new brewery and revive the local hockey team, but it’s clear he has ulterior motives. With a new mayor (Smith) and the new chief of police (Matysio), WolfCop has his work cut out for him when he has to save the town all over again.

Was Another Wolfcop a fun and furry romp through Woodhaven? The answer is yes, 10 out of 10 furry paws, yes! I can’t say that it was as equally as amazing as the original, but it delivered an epic, furtastic story with the perfect mix of horror and comedy. Bringing back the original characters played a huge part in the success of the film, while adding some new ones helped carry the tail… uh, tale.

The story is so ridiculous and out there from beginning to end. You think being a wolfcop is silly? Well, they took it 1,000 steps further with this one. You never know what’s going to happen, from the crazy new brewery to what happens when you drink the so called “well-crafted” beer to a mysterious new love interest. All these these factors help deliver an equally entertaining story with plenty of laughs.

My favorite character this time, hands down, was Willie Higgins, who was played by Jonathan Cherry. I’ve always adored Jonathan, ever since Final Destination 2, but he plays Willie with such ease and perfection. He is the highlight of the film and made me laugh the most. It was also a nice surprise to see a sneak peek of Pool Party Massacre’s Drew Marvick. Apparently, the original Wolfcop is his favorite werewolf film, so appearing in the sequel was a must.

I wouldn’t say there’s a ton of bloodshed and gore, but it’s still enough to satisfy your inner ghoul… especially the end, that’s when things get messy.

I also enjoyed the Bonus Features which include:

  • The Making of Another Wolfcop
  • Friends & Foes: Meet the Cast
  • The Monster Shop: Special FX
  • Shoot or Die!: Surviving on Set

I especially liked learning more about the FX. It’s always interesting to see how they create movie magic, and how they create the look of your favorite characters.

Final Thoughts on Another Wolfcop:

If you love horror comedies that make you cringe and laugh simultaneously, Another Wolfcop is for you. It delivers on all aspects, and won’t leave you disappointed. If you’re going to make a sequel to an awesome original, this is how you do it. Another Wolfcop will hit Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on July 3, make sure to grab your copy!
