Men attacking women isn’t a new thing. That’s why we often travel in packs and are always going to the bathroom with a friend. Sad but true. Sometimes it doesn’t matter though. If a madman wants you, he’ll get you…
This deems to be true in the new disturbing horror short, Glam. It was directed and written by Sam Hodge (Twelve Pole). The cast stars Jacey Sturgeon and Megan Dean.
Synopsis for Glam
Two friends, Sophie and Layne, enjoy a night out before finding themselves at the mercy of a madman obsessed with perfection.
Although the idea of torturing two young females isn’t quite original, Glam still delivers a disturbingly depraved horror story that makes you never want to leave your home again. Who knows when the next madman will be lurking around the corner?
There’s a moment in the film where you feel like the predator has had a change of heart or that a big twist is coming but instead he heats things up a bit. Literally. I won’t say exactly what happens, but I will say that it tops my list of one of the worse ways to be torture. Slowly and painfully.
One of the things that stood out to me the most in Glam is the special effects and makeup. I thought they were very well done utterly gruesome. Oodles of blood covering the floor.
Final Thoughts:
If you love films like Hostel and Saw, you’ll enjoy Glam and all it has to offer when it comes to blood and gore. I actually don’t see a lot of torture films that run only under 14 minutes, so they did a great job delivering this in such a short period of time without leaving in big plot holes or questions.
