Electric Callboy sure knows how to build anticipation for their new album TANZNEID, out Aug. 7.
In the German electronicore outfit’s delightfully unhinged music video for their brand new single “The Way You Are,” the band begins by paying homage to the catchy boy band ballads of the late ’90s. If you squint and ignore the vaguely alarming lyrics (“Girl, I love you more with every single bite…”), they could very much be mistaken for the Backstreet Boys or 98 Degrees with their choreography and matching ensembles. However, the nostalgic TRL vibes are abruptly replaced by a blood-soaked, Terrifier-esque dinner scene with crushing deathcore as the soundtrack.
It’s the perfect form of visual and sonic whiplash.

After rising from local heroes to one of the most acclaimed acts in modern heavy music thanks to gold-certified tracks like “Hypa Hypa” and “We Got The Moves,” their newest single — despite it’s upbeat intro — marks one of the heaviest songs Electric Callboy has ever written…and one of the biggest curveballs of TANZNEID.
“The Way You Are” follows an already massive album roll out that has produced fan favorites including the title track “Tanzneid,” “RATATATA,” “Hypercharged,” “Still Waiting,” “Revery,” “Elevator Operator” and “Let The Good Times Roll,” featuring The Offspring’s Dexter Holland.
