The Unique Story
Despite what some critics may have you believe, Chip Gubera’s story is original. There are some stereotypical factors in there, but they’re placed ever so gently into the storyline for a reason. Slasher.com is a film with turns and twists around every corner and its job is to mislead the viewer.
The Fun and Quirky Characters
The characters in Slasher.com are fantastic and there’s far more than meets the eye with them. As I mentioned above, there are some stereotypical things at play, including the characters. The Myers, played by the legendary Jewel Shepard and R.A. Mihailoff, are reminiscent of the Sawyer family from the Texas Chain Saw Massacre series, but they make it their own and bring more to the table than just a sadistic hillbilly family. Plus, I love the characters that Ben Kaplan and Morgan Carter play, as well their transformations throughout the film.
The Kickass Kills
I’m not saying some of the kills aren’t cheesy and that some are even overacted a bit. However, that doesn’t make them any less fun or kickass. Who doesn’t love an unexpected, bloody mess?
The Unforgettable and Cringeworthy Moments
During several scenes throughout Slasher.com I cringed, wondering what the hell was going on. The scene up above was definitely one of those moments and it made my stomach turn. I can’t forget to mention, Mama Myers had her fascination with an old fashioned spoon that we see her use in many absurd, disgusting ways. What will she do it with it next?
Support Indie Horror
If you truly love horror then you don’t want to miss out on the independent films. Indie horror has some of the most talented, devoted filmmakers who put their hearts and souls into their quality material. People always bitch about not seeing any original ideas from horror anymore.
