Top 10 Must-See Horror Movies of 2000

2). Cherry Falls

2000

I will never understand why Cherry Falls is the forgotten horror film of the century. It is hip, racy, and packs one hell of a punch by the end. It follows a high school whose students are being hunted by a serial killer. However, it isn’t the drinkers, the druggies, or the whores that are on this killer’s hit list. This killer is only interested in the innocent virgins.

Starring Brittney Murphy, this film didn’t get the recognition it deserves. I feel this is due to it coming out during the wrong timeframe. If it had been released in today’s age of Tinder and Grindr, it would have made a lot more sense and would have been better received. The ’90s weren’t exactly the era of sexual freedom, so the “deflowering party” idea wasn’t met with open arms. This film is suspenseful and has one hell of a twist so if you haven’t seen it yet, make sure to check it out.

About Preston Holt

At 5 years old i was catapulted in to the horror genre and have had no desire to ever leave it. I'm 26 years old with a great sense of humor and a thirst for the horror industry that just will never be quenched. I have a horror review site of my own called cabinintheweb reviews and when I'm not writing about, or watching, horror films, I am spending time with my spouse and my animals.
