Todd Phillips’s ‘JOKER’ (2019) Celebrates 5th Anniversary

In 2019, I was dealing with a lot of grief. I became attached to Arthur Fleck as I saw his decline in his mind. I know how weird it feels to be looked at. Everyone treats the Joker as a cherished memory, but there are two favorite actors. Jack Nicholson will always be my number one. But in a close second, Joker or Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) comes, winning my heart entirely.

Let’s get reviewing this one-of-a-kind movie.

Synopsis

Arthur Fleck is a lonely man who lives with his mother and wants freedom. Throughout time Arthur descends into madness and illussion He starts to suffer. He has no medication. Arthur has dreams, and a vice. He has a problem with taking all his stress out by laughing uncontrobally. In a hot moment Arthur protects a woman and things go haywire after that. Arthur was always losing, his mind starts all over and he takes revenge on the people he loved the most after he finds out everyone’s secret. They may laugh at Arthur, but he will have his revenge on them too.

Story Time

This movie surprised me; I didn’t think I would enjoy it because it seemed to be overhyped and an objective look at mental illness. I was very wrong; I feel this movie down to the bone. Being schizoaffective helps me keep going. The way others treated Arthur made a lightbulb turn on. Joker was spot on with every route they took to show a descent into madness. The dreary setting adds to the spiral. Everything in Joker works perfectly, even as he goes through a hunger. It’s also a sign in the world of mental illness. We go through so many therapists and doctors giving up on us; it’s a sad reality. I also love and relate to the fact that everyone hates him, except in a delusion—having a sick parent with secrets of her own. At a certain age and their inevitable death, parents can get soul-crushing.

The TV show scene also had a tremendous unexpected moment at its grand finale: Arthur’s descent into a dark place after everyone shoved him around. Arthur got what he wanted against everyone in society. Another significant part of the story is finding the name to identify himself as the Joker. I know there was a back story with Tim Burton, but I like this film so much that it’s always in rotation every month or two.

.Will I end up like Arthur? That was my main question for a while. It did scare me, but a good scare with a positive intent constantly improves things. Joker is not for the average Batman fan; to them, the movie is heresy. But I chose to watch it, which made me look at myself, and I promised to stay stable. It’s hard sometimes, but I know if I start to lose my mind, I have places to go and get help. However, someone must always care for me for the rest of my life. Not really, I don’t leave the house.

In The End

I know what it feels like to be in this situation, following fast-moving emotions and letting them all go. We all need an outlet and have different ways of showing it. Joker became violent as he fell into madness. The movie also shows Arthur has 100 moods all day, and so do I.

Maybe that’s why I relate more to this movie.
